Aspen’s commercial landscape continues to evolve alongside its growing reputation as a global luxury destination. While the town has long been known for skiing and high-end real estate, its business community is becoming increasingly dynamic, modern, and experience-driven.
New restaurants, luxury retail concepts, boutique hotels, wellness spaces, and mixed-use developments continue to reshape downtown Aspen and the surrounding Roaring Fork Valley.
White Elephant Aspen
One of the most anticipated additions this year is White Elephant Aspen, set to open June 15th, 2026, on the corner of Main Street and Garmisch Street. Conveniently located steps from downtown Aspen, the Aspen Institute, and the Aspen Music Festival and School, the hotel brings the renowned White Elephant Resorts hospitality brand from Nantucket and the East Coast to Aspen. The property will also feature LoLa 41º, the acclaimed Nantucket restaurant known for seafood and sushi specialties, alongside a speakeasy-style lounge.
Aspen’s luxury retail scene also continues to expand with several notable openings.

Aspen’s Old Fashioned 4th of July is returning bigger than ever this year, expanding into a full three-day celebration (July 3–5) under the theme “1776!” in honor of America’s 250th birthday and Colorado’s 150th.
Olympic Gold Medalist and Aspen local Alex Ferreira will serve as Grand Marshal, adding hometown energy to one of Aspen’s most iconic summer traditions.
New this year, a free carnival will take place at Rio Grande Park on July 3 and 4, featuring a Ferris wheel, rides, games, and food from Brown’s Amusement — all set against a classic mountain-town backdrop.
The weekend also includes live music, Boogie’s Buddy Race, the Kids on Bikes parade, the beloved downtown 4th of July Parade, and a Drone Show over Aspen Mountain to close out the celebration.
It’s a true Aspen tradition — blending small-town Americana with a uniquely elevated mountain experience.
